Ahungalla is a small, picturesque village close to Bentota in south west Sri Lanka. The female photographer, while strolling in the village, came across an old man walking his grandchild on the street. The child is shy in front of the inquisitive camera, hiding behind the grandfather. Holding the hand of the elderly person generates a feeling of safety for the child. The female photographer focusses on the interlocking of the fingers, a symbol of trust and bonding that conveys a moment of intimacy in the midst of the surrounding hustle and bustle.
